Todd Kelly, CEO, Todd is a successful serial entrepreneur with extensive experience in building
and managing young companies in the intersection of technology and media. His previous companies
focused on Internet and mobile services, software development, IP licensing, online content
programming, and physical and electronic publishing.Prior to co-founding SURFsquared Todd was the founder and General Manager of DADA USA where he grew a mobile media business from start to $50M+ revenue in under 2 years. Prior to DADA Todd was VP of Business Development and part of the founding management team at Zingy, the first mobile media publisher in the United States. Zingy founded the North American ringtone business, authoring and negotiating all the original licensing agreements with US. record labels. Zingy was eventually purchased by For-Side, a Japanese media company. Prior to Zingy Todd was COO/CFO and part of the founding management team at MobileSpring, a SMS interoperability service provider ultimately purchased by Real Networks. Prior to MobileSpring Todd founded SingleTrac Entertainment Technologies, an interactive entertainment company funded by both Sony and Microsoft. SingleTrac created several franchise properties for Sonys PlayStation game console, including Twisted Metal and WarHawk, and was ultimately purchased by GT Interactive. Todds early career experience was with General Electric, Perkin-Elmer, and Evans & Sutherland. He also has Wall Street Investment Banking experience including significant work in mergers and acquisitions. Todd received his Engineering degree from the University of Dayton and his MBA from the Darden School at The University of Virginia.
David Bartlett, EVP Business Affairs, David has co-founded several high-tech companies and was
a partner with a major law firm. He has substantial experience in corporate and securities law
and has authored books and articles on intellectual property licensing and strategic alliances
for technology companies. He is a member of the American Law Institute and serves on ALI
drafting committees.Prior to co-founding SURFsquared David served as Vice President, General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary to Azaire Networks Inc., a Silicon Valley-based wireless technology company integrating wireless LAN with GPRS, UMTS and other next generation services. He co-founded Azaire Networks in 1999. Prior to Azaire David was VP of Business Development, General Counsel, and Secretary of NetSage Corporation (merged with Finali Corporation), an agent-based software development company emphasizing electronic CRM and online instructional interactivity. He co-founded NetSage in 1996. Prior to NetSage David was a Partner of Cooley Godward llp, a Silicon Valley-based law firm, where he practiced for 10 years. He joined the firm in 1987. David co-founded the Boulder office of Cooley Godward, where he was in charge of the technology practice and was Co-Chair of the firm-wide Technology Practice Group. David represented high-tech companies concentrating on strategic alliances, corporate securities, mergers and acquisitions, and intellectual property transactions. Mr. Bartlett is a member of the American Law Institutes drafting committee for the Principles of Software Contracts and was also appointed to the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) Article 2B (Information Licensing and Software Contracts) Drafting Committee. David graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. in Business Entrepreneurship from the University of Colorado and received his J.D from the University of Denver College of Law.
Hugo DesRosiers, CTO, Hugo is a lifelong technology entrepreneur who has continually pushed the limits of
computer-based services. He has extensive experience in programming languages, IVR technology, and
collaborative online media.Prior to co-founding SURFsquared Hugo was the CTO and co-founder of Zingy, the first mobile media publisher in the United States. Hugo built Zingy from the concept stage to a profitable leader in the North American mobile entertainment market within 20 months and sold it for 40 times initial investment within 3 years. He grew the technology team from 0 to 46 engineers managing multiple worldwide development teams. Prior to Zingy Hugo founded Akra Logic, a software development tools company. Prior to Akra Logic Hugo was the CTO and co-founder of Extenta, a wireless application development company. Early in Hugos career he was an International Software Consultant participating and leading special projects for NeXT Computers, Oracle, Cisco, Novell and Sun. He has built engineering development teams in the US, Canada, Russia, Dubai, and various Eastern European countries. Hugo received his B.S. in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Ottawa and his M.S in Computer Science (parallelism and user interfaces) from the University of Montreal. He has done Ph.D. work in Linguistics and Artificial Intelligence at the University of Montreal. |
